| Full Description | This technical memorandum introduces RapidGRAT, a streamlined methodology for rapidly estimating managed aquifer recharge (MAR) potential at the basin or district scale. Developed using the Greater Kaweah Subbasin as a pilot application, the approach combines land use, soil suitability, crop compatibility, and water conveyance data to estimate the upper bound of recharge that could be achieved during high-flow years. The memo outlines the RapidGRAT methodology, presents results from the Consolidated Water District case study, and discusses how the tool can support recharge planning, infrastructure prioritization, groundwater sustainability, and funding applications. Designed as a scalable framework, RapidGRAT can be adapted for use in other groundwater basins throughout California. |
