This technical memorandum documents the development of an on-farm groundwater recharge program for the Yolo County Flood Control & Water Conservation District and Yolo Subbasin GSA, highlighting practical strategies for expanding recharge through grower partnerships, targeted outreach, and data-driven planning. The memo introduces a simplified field prioritization methodology that ranks agricultural lands based on recharge suitability, conveyance access, groundwater needs, and local priorities. It also shares lessons learned from implementing the 2025–2026 recharge program, including successful recharge on more than 4,000 acres, recommendations for future program improvements, and a roadmap for advancing to a full Groundwater Recharge Assessment Tool (GRAT).
