This summary highlights key insights and takeaways from the 2021 Flood-MAR Forum, where a diverse group of practitioners, researchers, agencies, Tribal representatives, and community members came together to explore how to expand Flood-MAR implementation across California. Building on prior collaboration through the Flood-MAR Network, the document distills lessons learned from panel discussions, workshops, and listening sessions into five central themes, including the importance of strong partnerships, coordinated operations, robust science and data, multi-benefit project design, and supportive policy and funding frameworks. Together, these insights reflect both the progress made and the work ahead to scale Flood-MAR as a viable, statewide strategy for improving water resilience, ecosystem health, and groundwater sustainability.
